SHADOWDAZEShadowDaze is a new gothic weekend and small scale alternative indoor festival in the UK. A platform to introduce known and unknown goth-rock, postpunk, minimal, industrial, synth-pop and electro-punk bands from all over Europe...It is our aim to present a variety and blending of musical styles or genres within the umbrella term of "Gothic music". The first edition of the ShadowDaze Weekend took place in Manchester the end of June 2010 and those who were there know what a great weekend it was and left, let's say.... "dazzled".The ShadowDaze Team accomplished this because we strongly believe that Goth Music is more than just Morticia Addams fashion, more than another Temple of Love; most of all it's about being an individual and being able to express yourself. The Gothic subculture is likely the longest surviving subculture to present day and a big part of that is the non-stop evolution of bands and styles.In short: ShadowDaze is different with bands you maybe never have heard of (all the more reason to attend), quality music, atmosphere and party.Please use the "Comments" link or "contact" link in the side menu if you want to contact us or leave your gothic minded opinion.

A bass player and a drummer from

the Batcave scene in Northern France

decided they are The Cheshire Cats

(no meerkats) and though their music

is simples, it's both delicious and very

postpunk with a lot of Girl Power.

The girls are very eager to play

in the UK and will introduce

their first album

with a lot of purrr and

a thousand kitties meowing....

Attrition are an electronic music band,

formed in Coventry, England in 1980

by Martin Bowes and Julia Niblock.

The band emerged from the

experimental post-punk scene

of the early 1980s and, along with

other groups such as Throbbing Gristle,

Coil, Einstürzende Neubauten,

and In the Nursery, greatly contributed

to the development of industrial music.

Still active 30 years later,

Attrition have been a stanchion of

darkwave and industrial music,

influencing many younger bands

in the genres while continuously

fine tuning their own distinctive sound.

Martin Bowes is releasing a

best of compilation of 30 years,

called "Dreamtime Collectors".
